- Taking samples from shore tanks and shore lines and sealing sample containers
- Attending at the laboratory in order to supervise the tests and analyses and compare the results with the specifications
- Performing initial inspection of the ship tanks that are nominated for loading the cargo in question to ensure that they are fit for taking the cargo (oil products), and carrying out the initial computations
- Measuring the amount of fuel and balance water in the tanks
- Measuring the tanks not nominated for loading
- Inspecting the void spaces
- Supervising the loading and preparation of the required samples
- Determining the quantity loaded on the basis of the ship tanks, the shore tanks or the metering system
- Filling in and completing the inspection forms
- Making out the protest letters, if required
- Issuing the required certificates
