Technical Inspection and Supervision of Pigging, ROV, and Sandbagging Operations for Subsea Crude Oil Transfer Pipelines
Considering that over 90% of the country’s crude oil exports are transferred from Genaveh Port to Kharg Island via five subsea pipelines, the maintenance of these pipelines is of critical importance. IGS Company, as an approved third-party technical inspector for the Iranian Oil Terminals Company, has been actively involved in inspecting and supervising the construction, installation, and maintenance of pipelines in coastal and seabed regions, operating 24/7 since 2016.
The technical inspection services provided by IGS in this area are as follows:
- Inspection during the installation of seabed pipelines
- Inspection of the placement of support bags under the pipelines, serving as concrete support molds, ensuring proper placement by divers and monitoring cement grout pumping into the bags.
- Inspection of concrete mattresses to protect sections of the pipelines near offshore platforms and coastal areas.
- Inspection of sandbagging operations in areas under the pipelines affected by scour to prevent pipeline fractures.
- Inspection and supervision of intelligent pigging operations for the five subsea pipelines from Genaveh shore to Kharg Island.
Due to the critical nature of these operations, IGS’s inspection services hold exceptional importance for the Iranian Oil Terminals Company and the National Iranian Oil Company.
